A fine idea for a Thursday afternoon

Anyone want to pick me up in their truck, make a quick stop at Lowes, and head on out to Windsor Farms?

never heard of Gated Communities till i read J.G. Ballard's Super-Cannes. that's the book i'd recommend to any young person who wants to understand where we are, where we're headed...

Windsor Farms is predominantly unwalled, with stunning public museums and gardens (Agecroft, Va House, Wilton) dotting its serpentine walkways. How 'bout the far West End/Southside subdivisions, which are homogenized fortresses that offer little of visual or historical interest. The red look-out post would be a positive addition to the view.

You're right about Windsor Farms. I was just thinking the addition of a guard tower would really take the place up a goosestep or two!

There's a gated community right behind Windsor Farms -- it's like they're saying Windsor Farms isn't exclusive enough... Patricia Cornwell lived there; she bought her neighboring plots too, so no one could peek over her hedges.
