Am I out of my mind

or is the light different on the West Coast? I'm not drunk (okay, actually, I am), but I could have sworn that today the light, you know, the kind that shines down from from the Sun, is different here. Everything was...clearer, somehow.

(I very much recommend the Hedges 2002 C-M-S, by the way.)

Andrew, you are an engaging writer. Please don't give up on Richmond while in Washington (parking is a lot cheaper here). For those of us keeping the home fires burning, and drinking Virginia wine, the title of your book is...? fiction or non? Subject matter? Details please! Bordeaux blends are layered endings, but give us the meat.

Kind words indeed. Thank you. The book is called "Body Piercing Saved My Life," and it's about Christian rock. It'll be published by Da Capo sometime next year. It's what I'm going to be working on for the next few months. I'll try to keep the solo-drunk-in-hotel-room posts to a minimum meanwhile!

Perhaps you could do both. You've convinced me to give up Wild Irish Rose (made in Petersburg).

Yeah, the light is different on the west coast... at least where I have been in the south.

Parking is great in Richmond, one of our biggest imports is the parking deck.

i've got a couple Joy Electric records, but i guess that only qualifies as "rock" in the wider, Mouse on Marsish sense...

The light could have seemed different for two primary reasons:

-Your latitude was different (as well as your West Coast longitude). Seattle is considerably north of Richmond, and the angle of the sun is different up there. The sun doesn't peak as high in the sky, although the days can be very long in summertime.

-There's a lot less pollution out here. Less particulate haze equals "clearer" sunshine.

Hope you're well. Happy to have found your blog.
